Job summary

ECS Mid-Atlantic, LLC is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician in Johnstown. The role is primarily field-based, performing observations, testing, and sampling of soil, aggregates, and concrete under supervision.

Qualifications

• 0 years of related experience required
• High school diploma or GED required
• Obtain basic certifications applicable to the work performed
• Valid driver's license if driving for ECS
• Good communication skills (verbal, written, reading comprehension)
• Dependable, self-motivated and detail-oriented
• Very limited to no knowledge of CMT principles and testing standards
• Basic math skills and data entry ability
• Ability to read maps, follow directions and interpret plans
• Basic proficiency with electronic devices (tablets, phones, laptops)
• Ability to lift equipment and materials regularly (up to ~85 lbs)
• Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and follow laws and company policies

Responsibilities

• Performs field observation, testing, and sampling of soil, aggregates, and concrete under supervision
• Assists with construction materials testing activities on project sites
• Communicates daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers
• Reports changing site conditions and additional testing needs to supervisors
• Assists with preparation and submission of daily field reports
• Supports basic calculations and data entry related to testing results
• Assists in organizing and maintaining field equipment
• Notifies supervisors of damaged or missing equipment
• Participates in project meetings with senior staff as requested
• Performs other field and project support duties as assigned
