Job summary

ECS Group of Companies in Fredericksburg, VA is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician. No experience is required, as you will be trained by experienced professionals to learn field testing on soils, aggregates, and concrete.

Responsibilities include observing, testing, sampling, data collection, and coordinating with project managers. You will lift up to 85 pounds, possess a valid driver's license, and may pursue OSHA 10 and other certifications as you grow with ECS.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Willing to develop understanding of heavy construction safety, practices, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Field Activities: Conduct observation, testing, and sampling of materials (soils, aggregates, concrete) on project sites under supervision.
• Testing Procedures: Perform routine field and laboratory tests following industry standards and methodologies.
• Data Collection: Perform calculations and data reduction based on sampling, test results, and inspection; assist with drafting and other duties.
