Job summary

Atlas is seeking a CMT Field Technician to perform advanced field and laboratory testing for HMA, concrete, soils, and aggregates to ensure project specifications and quality standards are met. The role requires 2+ years in construction and the ability to work independently while supporting local and statewide offices.

You will support roadway projects, maintain equipment, and document results accurately while adhering to safety policies. This position may require travel and shift flexibility.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in the construction industry, with a focus on HMA, concrete, soils, and aggregates.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for documenting test results.

Responsibilities

• Conduct material testing for HMA, concrete, soils, and aggregates in the field, laboratory, or plant.
• Ensure compliance with TxDOT and City of Austin specifications and support quality control and production oversight.
• Perform daily quality control and assurance sampling and testing to ensure adherence to project specifications.
• Provide technical support to roadway personnel, addressing placement testing inquiries and performing testing.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and ensure proper documentation of test results.
• Abide by all company health and safety policies and procedures.
• Monitor and manage incoming data streams, ensuring all inputs are correctly received and categorized.
• Perform initial assessments on system-generated tasks and queries, applying foundational knowledge to resolve basic issues.
• Accurately log and document all activities, maintaining detailed records for quality assurance and reporting purposes.
• Escalate complex or unresolved issues to project managers or subject matter specialists.
• Collaborate with team members to identify patterns and trends, contributing to process improvement initiatives.
