Job summary

Baltimore County Public Schools is seeking a Supervisor of General Building Maintenance to oversee the maintenance program and personnel across schools and offices within the assigned area. You will assign, schedule, review, and coordinate all aspects of the program to meet safety and quality standards.

Travel to worksites in Baltimore County, train staff, and manage payroll-related records while liaising with administrators and contractors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus three years of experience in building maintenance services, including some supervisory responsibility.
• Associate’s degree or higher is preferred.
• Other combinations of education, training and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Supervises assigned general maintenance services program and personnel to meet standards.
• Assigns, reviews and coordinates work; establishes schedules and priorities.
• Trains and evaluates employees; handles disciplinary actions when needed.
• Travels to worksites across Baltimore County for inspections.
• Liaises with school administrators, offices, and contractors.
• Prepares payroll, requisitions and related reports; manages supplies and inventory.
• Responds to emergency building events and weather-related incidents.
