Job summary

In-Place Machining Company (IPM) in Vancouver, WA seeks a Field Machinist to perform precision field machining across North America and internationally.

You will read blueprints, set up, operate Bridgeport mills and manual engine lathes, and maintain tight tolerances at customer sites while traveling extensively. Safety, quality, and professionalism are top priorities.

Compensation includes $100,000+ per year plus overtime opportunities, travel per diem, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of manual machining and/or field machining experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and machining specifications.
• Precision measuring experience using micrometers and inspection tools.
• Knowledge of cutting tools, materials, feeds, speeds, and machining processes.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively.

Location: Vancouver, WA (Extensive Travel Required)

Pay: Earn $100,000+ Annually (Base pay, overtime opportunities, travel per diem, and performance-based earning potential)

Schedule: Full-Time | Travel throughout the U.S. and internationally, including occasional weekends

What You Need to Have:

• 5+ years of manual machining and/or field machining experience
• Experience operating Bridgeport mills and manual engine lathes
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and machining specifications
• Precision measuring experience using micrometers and inspection tools
• Knowledge of cutting tools, materials, feeds, speeds, and machining processes
• Experience with rigging, hand tools, and power tools
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

The Musts:

• High School Diploma, GED, or HSED
• Valid Driver's License
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively
• Comfortable using mobile applications for timekeeping, expense reporting, and project documentation
• OSHA 10 Certification (provided)
• Forklift Certification (provided)
• IPM Overhead Crane Training Certification

Preferred:

• Technical degree
• Journeyman certification
• Previous field machining experience
