Job summary

Facility Solutions Group seeks a Lead Data Technician to guide field crews on commercial projects. You will install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot structured cabling and low‑voltage systems while coordinating with the Foreman and Project Manager to keep work on schedule.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of commercial cabling experience, strong CAT5e–fiber knowledge, and proven ability to train junior technicians and coordinate materials and workflow.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of commercial structured cabling or low‑voltage installation experience.
• Experience leading a crew or senior technician role preferred.
• Strong knowledge of CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6A, and fiber‑optic cabling systems.
• Good verbal and written communication; ability to train others.
• Ability to read blueprints, floor plans, riser diagrams and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct small crews of Data Technicians on active commercial sites.
• Assist Foreman with daily work assignments, manpower, installation priorities, and project workflow.
• Pull, route, dress, terminate, test, troubleshoot, and label CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6A, and fiber‑optic cabling.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, floor plans, and specifications.
• Lay out work for technicians and ensure installations meet drawings and customer requirements.
• Train and mentor junior technicians; lead by example in productivity and workmanship.
