Job summary

Facility Solutions Group is seeking a Lead Data Technician to manage and perform installation, termination, testing, and troubleshooting of structured cabling on commercial projects.

The role requires 4+ years in low-voltage install and strong leadership. You will supervise crews, coordinate work with foremen, read drawings, and maintain safety standards on site. A competitive benefits package is provided.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of commercial structured cabling or low-voltage installation experience required.
• Experience leading technicians and providing direction.
• Ability to read blueprints, floor plans, riser diagrams, specs.
• Strong knowledge of CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6A, and fiber optics.
• Experience with voice/data networks, A/V, access control, and DAS.
• Familiarity with construction documents and safety practices.
• BICSI certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day direction for small crews on active commercial sites.
• Coordinate daily work assignments and project workflow.
• Pull, route, terminate, test, and label cabling.
• Install and maintain cable support systems and pathways.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and plans.
• Train and develop junior technicians.
• Ensure safety policies and PPE are followed.
• Maintain documentation of testing and QC inspections.
