Job summary

Toshiba America Energy Systems is seeking a New STG Generator Installation Technical Advisor to provide on-site technical leadership during the installation of new steam turbine generators and related systems. The role collaborates with EPC contractors, Toshiba Japan engineering, and TAES project teams to ensure installations meet design specs, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical training/experience.
10–15 years of field experience in generator installation, erection, pre-commissioning, or commissioning in power generation.
Knowledge of generator installation practices, hydrogen cooling, seal oil, and related systems.

Responsibilities

Provide on-site technical advisory support for installation and assembly of steam turbine generators and subsystems.
Long-term project site assignments (domestic and international).
Ensure installation activities meet drawings, specs, manuals, and quality requirements.
Serve as primary technical interface between EPC contractors, TAES project management, and Toshiba engineering.
Review EPC installation procedures, lift plans, and method statements for technical compliance.
Perform, witness, and document CTQ inspections through completion and turnover to commissioning.
Verify alignments, elevations, clearances, torques, interfaces, cleanliness, and preservation requirements.
Provide technical guidance to EPC supervision and craft labor on-site.
Promote safety and participate in site safety meetings.
