Job summary

T & T Construction Management Group is seeking a Field Layout Engineer to provide technical surveying support using advanced instrumentation, establish control points, grid lines, and elevations from project drawings. The role requires reading drawings, mentoring others, and ensuring accurate layouts on site in Tampa, with potential travel.

You will work with total stations, optical/laser levels, and AutoCAD files, coordinating with the project team to resolve discrepancies and maintain safety

Qualifications

• Proficient with surveying instruments including total stations (standard/robotic), optical and laser levels.
• Ability to read drawings and derive benchmarks, control points, grid lines and offsets.
• Interpret site conditions vs. design drawings and communicate discrepancies.

Responsibilities

• Safety: use PPE and maintain training for equipment.
• Quality: verify layout against shop drawings and scope of work.
• Scheduling: coordinate gear for each job to meet the schedule and ensure timely layout.
• Plan with project team, order equipment as required, and code time accurately.
