Job summary

Terracon in New Orleans, LA seeks a field/lab technician to perform testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel.

You will communicate test results to project managers and clients, prepare data reports, and maintain equipment and safety practices on site. This role offers hands-on training and room for growth within Terracon's field teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 6 months of field testing experience preferred.
• A valid driver's license with acceptable driving record may be required.
• ACI certification within 90 days of hire.
• Nuclear Density Gauge certification within 6 months of hire.
• Successful completion of related internal safety certifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, steel).
• Communicate with Project Manager, client representatives, and others regarding site requirements and test results.
• Transport material samples to the laboratory with identifying documentation for testing and analysis.
• Prepare and submit data and observation in written and digital forms for daily transmittals.
• Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.
• Follow safety rules and pre-task planning; report safety concerns.
• Assist with scheduling and dispatch of Technicians to project sites.
