Job summary

Actalent is hiring a CMT Technician I in Austin, TX. You will perform field and laboratory testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel, supporting quality assurance on active construction sites. The role involves site observations, sample collection, and reporting to project teams.

You must have an ACI Field Testing Technician Grade I certification, a HS diploma or GED, and 6 months of related experience. A valid driver's license and ability to work outdoors are essential.

Qualifications

• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I certification is required.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 6 months of construction/materials testing/related field experience.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions on active sites.
• Ability to lift and transport testing equipment and samples.
• Must complete internal safety training and certifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform field and laboratory testing of construction materials per standards and procedures.
• Conduct site observations and inspections to verify project requirement compliance.
• Collect, label, document, and transport material samples for analysis.
• Record test results, observations, and field data using written and digital systems.
• Communicate results and site conditions to project management and stakeholders.
• Assist with preparation and submission of daily reports and project documentation.
• Maintain testing equipment, vehicles, tools, and work areas in a clean, organized condition.
