Job summary

Nooks is seeking an IT Support Specialist to be the frontline resource for day-to-day technical support and site buildouts. You will deploy workstations, configure systems, and work with senior IT staff to resolve escalations, supporting secure, classified environments.

The role emphasizes hands-on site buildouts, travel to stand up new sites, and maintaining thorough documentation to ensure smooth handoffs and compliant operations.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of IT support, helpdesk, or system administration experience (DoD or cleared-environment exposure preferred).
• Foundational knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, networking concepts, and common IT troubleshooting practices.
• Strong documentation skills and clear communication with users at all technical levels.
• Willingness and physical ability to perform site buildout work — lifting and setting up IT equipment and running cabling.

Responsibilities

• Stand up IT for new Nooks sites — deploying workstations, mounting monitors, managing cabling, and installing peripherals during facility outfitting.
• Provide Tier I and Tier II support across the site's classified and unclassified systems, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
• Perform account creation, permission updates, and patching on site systems under supervision of senior IT staff.
• Maintain accurate records of support requests, troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and configuration changes across the system lifecycle.
