Job summary

NRG Energy seeks a Field Planning Manager to optimize field inventory levels and support installation/service teams. You will partner with Supply Chain, Demand Planning, Logistics, Product, and Field Operations to ensure technicians haveInventory, tools, and operational support for customers.

You will drive LOS, inventory health/turns, and cost-effective logistics while coordinating with cross-functional leaders to keep field operations ready and productive.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Logistics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in supply chain, inventory management, field operations, logistics, or related operational functions.
• 2+ years of leadership experience managing teams or operational programs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into operational action.
• Experience working cross-functionally with operational and business partners.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and follow-through abilities.
• Experience with inventory systems, reporting tools, and operational metrics.

Responsibilities

• Maintain field inventory availability and LOS targets for field operations.
• Develop and execute strategies to optimize field inventory levels and turns.
• Monitor inventory performance and coordinate corrective actions to maintain technician readiness.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Logistics, and Demand Planning to align availability and forecasted demand.
• Support replenishment, stocking strategies, and field deployment initiatives across service and installation operations.
• Participate in weekly operational reviews to communicate LOS performance and risks.
• Develop reporting, metrics, and scorecards for field inventory performance.
• Serve as primary contact for field inventory needs and align with stakeholders.
• Partner with leaders to address inventory, tooling, and field readiness opportunities.
• Support NPI pilots in the field, including inventory placement and tracking.
• Capture lessons learned and recommend improvements for field deployments.
• Manage seasonal inventory planning and balancing inventory turns with costs.
• Lead continuous improvement to enhance field inventory processes and accuracy.
• Drive process standardization and operational discipline across field inventory programs.
• Provide insights to leadership through reporting and reviews.
