Job summary

Austin Powder is offering a Field Intern program designed to give Mining Engineering students hands-on experience in the mining and blasting industry. Interns will rotate through technical, operations, safety and compliance areas, supported by mentors and leadership.

The role involves fieldwork, data collection, and learning shot loading, layout and design (E-Star), with housing assistance and regional travel as part of the assignments.

Qualifications

• Strong team-oriented mindset.
• Ability to work non-traditional first shift hours starting very early.
• Perform basic math functions to count/verify inventory.
• Able to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Desire to learn local operations, technical and sales aspects of the blasting industry.

Responsibilities

• Will learn to safely handle all products for daily operations and follow safety protocols.
• Collaborate as a team member and perform blasting operations under leadership.
• Assist in field work including sampling, surveying and site inspections.
• Support materials, equipment needs and data collection during rotation.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment and report safety concerns.
