Job summary

Knight Piésold offers Summer 2027 Internship opportunities for students pursuing Civil or Geotechnical Engineering. Interns will gain real-world experience supporting mining and infrastructure projects across North America and internationally, under mentorship from experienced engineers and technical specialists.

Responsibilities include earthwork design, geotechnical analyses, Civil 3D drafting, and preparation of design reports.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
• Strong interest in developing engineering and technical skills in a consulting environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work well independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design of major earthwork projects such as tailings dams and heap leach facilities.
• Assist with geotechnical analyses including slope stability and liquefaction evaluations.
• Prepare civil layouts and drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Prepare design reports and project proposals.
• Support geotechnical aspects of permitting, reclamation, and closure activities.
