Job summary

Austin Powder’s Field Internship program offers hands-on mining and blasting industry experience through a multi-faceted rotation focusing on technical, operations, safety and compliance. Interns work with experienced professionals, support daily operations, collect and analyze data, and gain practical knowledge of mining processes and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in Mining Engineering program or degree.
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Lift 50+ pounds of product and materials.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Learn to safely handle all products and follow safety protocols.
• Observe, assist and perform blasting operations under leadership.
• Assist in shot loading, layout and design (E-Star).
• Support site supervisor with materials and equipment needs.
• Use hand tools, shovels and operate around heavy equipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe workspace and report safety concerns.
• Assist in field work including sampling, surveying and site inspections.
• Other duties as assigned.
