Job summary

City of New York’s Office of Chief Medical Examiner seeks Integrity Operations Investigators to support the Integrity & Standards Office. The role is field-based across NYC, working 24/7 on investigations into misconduct and compliance with agency policies.

Applicants should be prepared for sensitive environments and travel across the five boroughs. Responsibilities include interviewing staff, collecting evidence, drafting detailed reports, and coordinating with law enforcement partners.

Qualifications

• Four-year high school diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree or education/experience equivalent.
• Experience in investigations and reporting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field-based integrity operations across OCME facilities and death scenes.
• Manage caseloads from intake to closure.
• Conduct interviews and collect evidence.
• Draft clear investigative reports and written referrals.
• Testify at administrative and court hearings as needed.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including DOI and DA offices.
• Remain on call 24/7 for operational needs and large-scale events.
