Job summary

The New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner seeks Integrity Operations Investigators to support the ISO. The role is field-based across five boroughs, with 24/7 schedules and rotating shifts. Candidates must handle sensitive matters with discretion and testifying when required.

Responsibilities include conducting field investigations, managing misconduct caseloads, collecting evidence, drafting reports, and coordinating with DOI and DA offices. A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications include a four-year high school diploma and four years of satisfactory full‑time experience in related fields, or a bachelor’s degree, or education/experience equivalent to the above.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field-based integrity operations across OCME facilities and death scenes, including integrity and quality assurance checks and compliance inspections.
• Manage a caseload of employee misconduct investigations from intake through closure, interviewing OCME employees and external witnesses.
• Collect, review and analyze audio, video, documentary and testimonial evidence.
• Draft and maintain clear, well-supported investigative reports, case records, internal memoranda, notes, and written referrals; make recommendations for action.
• Testify at administrative and court hearings as needed.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including DOI and district attorneys’ offices; coordinate with oversight bodies.
• Remain on call 24/7 to respond to operational needs and large-scale events; operate a motor vehicle for field work.
