Job summary

Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. is seeking a Controls Technician for a field-based role in Iowa. You will troubleshoot, test, and repair PLC-based control systems for municipal water and wastewater systems, supporting instrumentation calibration and system upgrades on Allen‑Bradley and Siemens platforms.

You will install and service VFDs and motor controls, assist with commissioning, and work directly with customers in the field, providing high‑quality service in a dynamic, essential industry.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Electrical Technology or equivalent hands‑on experience.
• Experience with PLC troubleshooting (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens).
• Experience with HMI systems (FactoryTalk or similar).
• VFD installation and maintenance.
• Industrial instrumentation and calibration; process controls.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, test, and repair PLC-based control systems.
• Perform instrumentation calibration (flow, pressure, level, temperature, transmitters).
• Install, modify, and service VFDs and motor control systems.
• Execute control panel modifications and system upgrades.
• Support commissioning and startup of automation systems.
• Diagnose and resolve issues across Allen‑Bradley and Siemens PLC/HMI platforms.
• Work directly with customers in the field, ensuring high‑quality service and communication.
