Job summary

Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. seeks a Controls Technician to advance our clients’ municipal water and wastewater automation projects. The role is hands-on, field-based, with focus on PLC-based control systems, instrumentation calibration, and panel work.

You will troubleshoot and repair PLC systems, calibrate instrumentation, install/maintain VFDs, and support commissioning across Allen-Bradley and Siemens platforms. Travel ~30% to site locations is expected.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree in Electrical Technology or equivalent hands-on experience.
Experience with PLC troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
HMI systems (FactoryTalk or similar).
VFD installation and maintenance.
Industrial instrumentation and calibration.
Process-related controls.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Field-based role with ~30% travel.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, test, and repair PLC-based control systems.
Perform instrumentation calibration (flow, pressure, level, temperature, transmitters).
Install, modify, and service VFDs and motor control systems.
Execute control panel modifications and system upgrades.
Support commissioning and startup of automation systems.
Diagnose and resolve issues across Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLC/HMI platforms.
Work directly with customers in the field, ensuring high-quality service and communication.
