Job summary

Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. seeks a Controls Technician to advance our clients’ municipal water and wastewater automation projects. The role is hands-on, field-based, with focus on PLC-based control systems, instrumentation calibration, and panel work.

You will troubleshoot and repair PLC systems, calibrate instrumentation, install/maintain VFDs, and support commissioning across Allen-Bradley and Siemens platforms. Travel ~30% to site locations is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Electrical Technology or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Experience with PLC troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
• HMI systems (FactoryTalk or similar).
• VFD installation and maintenance.
• Industrial instrumentation and calibration.
• Process-related controls.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Field-based role with ~30% travel.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, test, and repair PLC-based control systems.
• Perform instrumentation calibration (flow, pressure, level, temperature, transmitters).
• Install, modify, and service VFDs and motor control systems.
• Execute control panel modifications and system upgrades.
• Support commissioning and startup of automation systems.
• Diagnose and resolve issues across Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLC/HMI platforms.
• Work directly with customers in the field, ensuring high-quality service and communication.
