Job summary

Nikon SLM Solutions is seeking an Installation Engineer to lead installation, commissioning, calibration and validation of metal additive manufacturing systems at customer sites worldwide. You will work with cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical challenges and ensure safe, high-quality handovers.

This role requires strong mechanical and electrical hands-on skills, travel up to domestic and international sites, and excellent communication to train customers and document activities

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Technology, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years in equipment installation, field service, commissioning, or similar technical role.
• Experience with mechanical and electrical systems and equipment.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Strong problem-solving and customer-facing communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, assemble and commission metal additive manufacturing systems at customer sites.
• Calibrate, test, verify and perform functional checks on installed systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and system issues.
• Escalate complex issues to engineering or service as needed.
• Maintain documentation of installation activities, calibrations and customer interactions.
