Job summary

Orion Placement is seeking a motivated Construction Inspector for Albuquerque, NM to observe and inspect civil infrastructure construction activities, focusing on water and wastewater projects. You will review engineering drawings, monitor progress, and prepare inspection reports.

Bring 2+ years of relevant field experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to document activities for project teams. PE license is not required; on-site work arrangement will be finalized during hiring.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in civil infrastructure, construction inspection, construction observation, or related engineering work.
• Experience reviewing civil engineering drawings, construction plans, or technical specifications.
• Familiarity with municipal water, wastewater, utilities, or related infrastructure projects is highly valued.
• Ability to document construction activities and communicate effectively with project teams.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Previous field inspection or construction oversight experience is a plus.
• A Professional Engineer (PE) license is not required.

Responsibilities

• Observe and inspect civil infrastructure construction activities, with an emphasis on water and wastewater projects.
• Review engineering drawings, construction plans, and project specifications to help ensure work meets project requirements.
• Monitor construction progress, workmanship, and materials for quality and compliance.
• Prepare inspection reports, field notes, construction documentation, and progress updates.
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and project managers to address construction questions and field challenges.
• Identify potential issues, communicate findings, and support practical solutions that keep projects moving.
• Help maintain accurate project records and support successful construction completion.
