Job summary

Stantec is seeking a talented Construction Inspector in Toledo, OH, to deliver field inspections on water infrastructure projects. You will act as the Construction Manager’s on-site representative, monitor contractor work, and generate detailed daily reports.

You will verify conformance with specifications, coordinate tests, and document issues in a structured QA/QC process. A minimum of five years in inspection and an Associate’s Degree are preferred, with full-time status and competitive

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of construction project inspection experience.
• Associate’s Degree in Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Management preferred.
• Ability to follow health and safety guidelines and interpret contract documents.

Responsibilities

• Provide single-point field inspection of the contractor’s work in the field.
• Prepare comprehensive Daily Reports detailing all observed activities.
• Inspect and verify contractor compliance with standards, plans, and codes.
• Communicate findings to contractors regarding conformity or non-conformity.
• Review issues that may impact the contract and changes.
• Attend regular Progress Meetings with Contractor and review schedule.
• Develop project-specific QA/QC documents and standards.
• Plan and coordinate field testing and inspections per Contract Documents.
• Submit test reports for turnover documentation to Owner.
• Prepare reports documenting QA/QC inspections and corrective actions.
• Assist with authorized change orders and documentation of resources.
• Review monthly progress pay estimates for materials and value.
