Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an on-site Field Inspector to join our Transportation Construction, Engineering and Inspection group. This is an on-site role that travels to project locations across multiple states and provides inspections of traffic control, environmental controls, layout, materials, and construction methods.

You will review daily reports, verify quality control procedures, read construction plans, and support QC with basic math and MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in English.
• Basic arithmetic knowledge.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to adapt to new technologies and quickly learn new applications.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of traffic control, environmental controls, layout, construction methods and materials under direct supervision.
• Review and assess daily contractor reports; verify QA procedures and material testing per Quality Control Plan.
• Review material testing procedures and results for contract conformity; measure quantities placed.
