Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a field inspector to join our Transportation Construction, Engineering and Inspection group. The role is on-site with project locations nationwide, offering hands-on inspection work and direct impact on project success.

You will assist in inspecting traffic control, environmental controls, and construction methods, reviewing contractor reports, and ensuring quality procedures align with the contract. Travel up to 40% may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• 0 years.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required. Travel frequency varies with workload.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of traffic control, environmental controls, layout, construction methods and materials.
• Determine acceptability of contractor day-to-day work and review daily reports.
• Review material testing procedures and results for contract conformance; measure quantities.
• May perform sampling and in-place testing of soil, aggregate base, concrete and asphalt pavement.
