Job summary

NV5 is hiring Water/Wastewater and Public Works Construction Inspectors across Southern California. You will work with engineers, program managers, and environmental professionals to ensure quality, safety, and compliance on infrastructure projects such as roads, water systems, and treatment facilities.

The role supports full-time, part-time, and on-call projects throughout Inland Empire, Orange County, LA, San Bernardino, and Riverside counties, with a base pay of $50–$70 per hour plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in civil construction on municipal/public works or transportation projects.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience; Group II certificates preferred.
• Electrical inspection experience including SCADA and instrumentation.
• Knowledge of building codes (ICBO/ACI/NEC) and local ordinances.
• Ability to interpret plans and contract terms; strong written/verbal communication.
• Proficiency with daily construction logs, MS Office, and project software.

Responsibilities

• Directly collaborate with supervisors, contractors, and designers to ensure quality and schedule adherence.
• Oversee contractor work and inspect structures to meet plans and specs.
• Track costs and schedules; identify risks and prevent budget overruns.
• Interpret plans and contracts; ensure alignment across stakeholders.
• Recommend solutions for delays and site emergencies; maintain efficiency.
• Represent NV5 and maintain client relationships to provide optimal solutions.
