Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design in Maine seeks a Resident Engineer to join our Construction Engineering & Inspection team. You will lead inspectors on bridge and highway projects, document daily activities, and ensure work aligns with specifications.

A strong focus on leadership and field execution helps communities move infrastructure forward. The role requires 6+ years in construction engineering/inspection, a 10-hour OSHA credential, and a US driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of construction engineering/inspection experience.
• 10-hour OSHA certification.
• Valid US driver's license.
• MaineDOT/municipal experience preferred.
• Knowledge of MaineDOT Standard Specifications.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead inspectors or act as a solo inspector for construction inspection of bridge/highway projects; document work with daily reports, photos, and sketches.
• Oversee documentation of construction inspection, including pay estimates, change orders, daily reports, quantity checks, meeting minutes, material certifications.
• Ensure work complies with specifications and project plans; apply company policies and standards to the work.
• Maintain project documentation and communicate with all levels of the project team.
• Coordinate activities on the site and resolve problems related to the work.
• Lead other construction inspectors, providing coaching and direction as needed.
