Job summary

TYLin Group seeks a Resident Inspector for highway and bridge construction projects in Maine. The role involves coordinating field inspectors, supervising work, and overseeing testing to support project delivery.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management and 10+ years of highway/bridge inspection experience, with MaineDOT familiarity. Willingness to travel to remote sites and a strong client focus are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management is required.
• 10+ years of construction inspection experience, including highway/bridge work.
• Familiarity with MaineDOT specifications and documentation practices.
• Ability to travel to remote field locations and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate between field inspectors and contractor’s representative to supervise the work and testing.
• Monitor the progress of the work and report major deviations from schedule, contract price, or quantity.
• Support the Construction Services Manager in project management, contract administration, QA/QC.
• Track submittals by contractor to ensure reviews and approvals are in place prior to construction.
• Maintain records, books, docs, papers, accounting records relevant to cost incurred during the work.
• Perform final inspection, punch list, contract completion, final acceptance and close out.
• Attend progress meetings and prepare correspondence.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
