Job summary

HNTB Corporation is seeking a Resident Engineer I for the Maine region, focusing on bridge construction and field inspection along major highway corridors. You will manage field operations, review submittals, and coordinate with a wide project team to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

Responsibilities include leading inspection staff, developing project scopes, and guiding project controls and client communications. A PE may be preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or higher with relevant licensure.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in bridge/highway construction.
• Proven leadership of inspection teams and field supervision.
• Knowledge of MaineDOT/Maine Turnpike standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead field management of construction projects up to $10M in value.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors for timely responses.
• Review drawings, specs, and submittals for constructability and conformance.
• Develop and implement project delivery plans, schedules, and cost controls.
• Mentor staff and manage multi-contract field operations to minimize disruption.
