City of Houston is seeking a qualified inspector for the Houston Public Works Emergency Management division. The role conducts sanitary, water, storm, paving, and floodplain inspections to ensure compliance with City specs and permits.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and about 2 years of journey-level inspection experience, with preference for floodplain management expertise and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of journey level or skilled inspection experience requested.
• Preference for floodplain management experience and MS Office proficiency.

Responsabilidades

• Conducts inspections (sanitary, water, storm, paving, driveways, flood plain, new construction) for compliance with specs.
• Identifies problem areas, recommends solutions and documents findings.
• Meets engineers, developers, contractors and public to respond to inquiries and problems.
• Maintains filing systems, reports and documentation; researches plans and drawings.
• Investigates violations, participates in enforcement including citations; disaster recovery participation.
