Job summary

Vertex Companies, LLC is seeking an Environmental Scientist/Geologist for our Due Diligence group to perform Phase 1 and Phase II Assessments for clients in the region, with frequent travel to Houston area projects.

Responsibilities include field inspections, documenting progress, preparing field reports, and coordinating with project stakeholders. Travel daily within the region, with extended hours and field conditions; OSHA-10 certification encouraged and safety a priority.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of work experience.
• Willingness to obtain OSHA 10 certification.
• Frequent travel to project sites, including daily travel in Houston area.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site inspections to verify work against plans and contract documents.
• Document construction activities, progress, and site conditions.
• Maintain detailed field diaries and photographic records.
• Prepare accurate field reports and communicate observations to stakeholders.
• Track progress and identify potential delays or deviations from schedules.
• Coordinate with contractors, project managers, and owners to address field issues.
