Job summary

University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign seeks Technicians and Specialists for field implementation coaching and training in the School of Social Work. The role supports IDCFS initiatives, provides leadership development, and strengthens transfer of learning to field operations.

Technician or Specialist positions require master’s level education and several years in child welfare, with supervision experience. Hybrid work options may be available, on-site in Illinois, with travel statewide.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related human services field.
• 3+ years of professional experience in a public-sponsored, agency-based child welfare setting.
• Two years of supervision of direct service staff and/or management of child welfare services.
• Experience with applying learning methodologies, coaching, transfer of learning, group facilitation, and training.

Responsibilities

• Train, coach and develop child welfare staff and supervisors through individual coaching, group learning, and formal training on leadership.
• Provide field support and coordinate meetings with offices, agencies, or client residences.
• Lead curriculum design, development, revisions and enhancements with program managers.
• Maintain progress notes, needs assessments, and regular reports; assist with data collection and analysis.
• Co-facilitate training of trainers for child welfare content and responsible for delivery preparation and classroom management.
• Remain current on trends and best practices; represent the program in meetings and conferences.
