Job summary

UPS Instrument & Electrical Services is seeking an experienced I&E Field Quality Control Technician to support capital projects in the Power Generation and Distribution sectors. You will verify that electrical and instrumentation installations meet project specs, codes, and client standards while supporting safe, reliable execution on site.

In this role you will perform a range of inspections, witness tests, maintain records, and collaborate with construction, engineering, and commissioning

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience as an I&E QC Technician or related role.
• Experience supporting capital projects within Power Generation or Power Distribution.
• Ability to read Electrical One-Line Diagrams, Schematics, and P&IDs.
• Proficient in inspection documentation and turnover packages.
• Willingness to work in field environments and extended hours.

Responsibilities

• Perform QC inspections of electrical and instrumentation installations on capital construction projects.
• Verify installations comply with drawings, specifications, procedures, and codes.
• Witness and document testing activities: continuity, insulation resistance, grounding, loop checks, functional tests.
• Generate punch lists and track corrective actions.
• Maintain inspection records and turnover packages.
• Assist in developing inspection/test plans (ITPs) and quality procedures.
• Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
• Interface with project teams on quality issues.
