Job summary

Johnson Controls in Houston, TX is seeking a senior professional to design, implement and support complete HVAC building control systems and related low‑voltage subsystems. You will develop software, create diagrams, and coordinate submittals and installation with customers, consultants, and service teams.

You will lead commissioning, validation, and site training, ensuring safety, quality and timely delivery while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering and/or minimum eight years’ experience.
• Knowledge of construction/service/HVAC industry.
• Knowledge of control theory, building automation systems and subsystems.
• Experience integrating low voltage building subsystems using protocols (LON, BACnet).
• Ability to relate technical knowledge to non-technical audiences; advanced CAD skills.

Responsibilities

• Designs, configures and services building control systems for customer facilities; creates diagrams and schedules.
• Develops software programs and tests for system operation.
• Coordinates drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation.
• Selects, orders and tracks materials for assigned jobs.
• Assists in loading, commissioning and validation of system and network controllers.
• Provides field change information for as‑built drawings and software.
• Keeps stakeholders informed of progress and issues; participates in meetings.
• Trains owner/operator on the building control system; performs value engineering.
• May supervise junior technicians; adheres to safety standards.
