Job summary

Transurban is seeking an HSE Assurance Advisor to promote safety and environmental culture across highway maintenance and construction. The role combines field presence with corporate oversight to ensure effective implementation of HSE management systems.

You will conduct assurance activities for high-risk work, support audits and investigations, and drive continuous improvement in safety and environmental performance. This hybrid role requires collaboration with contractors and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in incident investigation, training delivery, and stakeholder engagement.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards, NFPA 70E, and environmental compliance is preferred.
• Experience delivering safety programs and working in infrastructure/construction environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication, leadership, and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct assurance activities for high-risk field work, including fall protection, electrical safety, excavation and trenching, vehicle operations, and MOT/work area protection.
• Conduct or participate in internal and external HSE audits, environmental inspections, and contractor compliance evaluations.
• Support the development, rollout, and continuous improvement of HSE Management Plans and safe work procedures.
• Identify and intervene in emerging safety and risk trends with cross-functional teams.
• Support fleet operations frameworks by conducting telematics reviews and driver coaching.
• Coach and guide field teams and contractors to foster hazard reporting and environmental stewardship.
• Provide agile HSE support during incidents to ensure business continuity and resilience.
• Conduct or support incident investigations and guide corrective actions, including environmental incidents.
