Job summary

Dome Construction is seeking a Field HR Business Partner to align field operations with people strategies. You’ll be the trusted onsite partner for field employees and leaders, building relationships on active jobsites across Northern California and occasional Southern California travel.

Qualifications

• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is required.
• Five+ years of progressive HR experience including employee relations, investigations, performance management, and employment law compliance.
• Experience supporting field-based, construction, skilled trades, operational, or unionized workforce.
• Strong knowledge of California employment laws and HR best practices.
• Experience with Collective Bargaining Agreements, union benefits, and labor relations practices.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a regular field presence on jobsites, typically two to three days per week.
• Serve as trusted HR partner for field employees, Foremen, Superintendents, and Operations leaders.
• Provide coaching on employee relations, performance management, communication, conflict resolution, documentation, and leadership effectiveness.
• Interpret and support the administration of Collective Bargaining Agreements.
• Coordinate union dispatching, staffing changes, layoffs, recalls, transfers, and workforce movement between projects.
• Lead onboarding, check-ins, stay interviews, exit interviews, and 30/60/90-day onboarding follow-ups.
• Provide onsite onboarding and orientation support for field employees.
• Partner with Benefits and Leaves, Safety, Payroll, HR, and field leadership on employee concerns, leaves, accommodations, injuries, and return-to-work planning.
• Monitor trends involving employee relations, grievances, injuries, separations, onboarding feedback, and workforce changes.
