Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a field-based construction equipment mechanic in Beech Island, SC to diagnose, repair, maintain mobile heavy equipment, including cranes, bulldozers, graders and backhoes. You will travel to active sites and apply your troubleshooting and preventive maintenance skills in the field.

The role requires 7+ years as a mechanic, 2+ years in supervision, CDL Class A within 6 months, and a strong focus on safety, documentation, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of experience as a Mechanic with strong knowledge of mechanics.
• At least 2 years experience in a supervisory or lead role.
• Must have working knowledge of industrial construction equipment, machines and tools.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain construction equipment to support safe operations.
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine service on heavy equipment.
• Read and interpret manuals, blueprints, schematics, and manufacturer guidance to complete repairs.
• Safely dismantle, reassemble, test, and return heavy equipment to job-ready condition.
