Job summary

S&ME is seeking a Project Engineer in Greenville-Spartanburg, SC, to deliver geotechnical and construction materials projects. You’ll guide projects from subsurface exploration through final construction support, serving as a technical resource for Energy clients and ensuring safety, compliance, and quality.

The role blends field presence with client interaction, mentoring, and cross-discipline teamwork, offering growth and opportunities across energy, transportation, and infrastructure sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering, Mining, or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of professional geotechnical/geostructural/construction experience.
• PE or PG license or ability to obtain one.
• Strong Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD skills.
• Fluent English communication and strong writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical, construction, and special inspection projects.
• Analyze field/lab data on foundations, slope stability, and settlements.
• Perform regular site visits to monitor progress and QA.
• Collaborate with clients and contractors; manage stakeholder communications.
• Prepare detailed reports and mentoring junior staff; track observations.
