Job summary

CERTERRA, with a 60-year history and a national footprint, is expanding its Tucson office by hiring an entry-level Staff Geophysicist, Geoscientist, Hydrologist, or Engineer. The role supports data collection, analysis, and report writing, with opportunities to process and model geophysical data and integrate GPS/survey information.

Ideal candidates will hold a geoscience-related degree with math/physics, be able to travel up to 70%, and communicate effectively.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geophysics, Geosciences, Geology, or Earth Science related Engineering with 2-4 years of applied field experience, or a Master’s degree with limited experience.
• Degree must include advanced math and physics; transcript required.
• Ability to work with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, organized and detail-oriented.
• Willingness to travel up to 70% regionally, nationally and globally; valid driver’s license and passport.
• Public trust requirements: US citizenship per government contracts.

Responsibilities

• Assist scientists with data collection, data processing, and report writing.
• Process, model, and visualize earth science and geophysical data.
• Integrate GPS/survey data and coordinate with field team.
• Set up, operate, and maintain field monitoring equipment.
• Travel to field projects ranging from two days to two months.
• Provide field and office support as needed.
