Job summary

Generator Supercenter, Inc. is hiring a Generator Engine Mechanic / Service Technician to join our field-based team in the Louisville area.

The role focuses on diagnosing, maintaining and repairing whole-home standby generators and related electrical systems, with travel to residential job sites and strong emphasis on customer communication. Ideal candidates have mechanical and electrical repair experience, read schematics, and can work independently.

Qualifications

• Experience with mechanical/electrical repair of small engines or standby generators.
• Ability to read and follow schematics, wiring diagrams and service manuals.
• Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.
• Comfortable working independently in the field with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Travel to residential job sites using a company-provided service vehicle.
• Diagnose, perform routine maintenance and repairs on whole-home standby generators.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical components, including ATS systems.
• Read electrical diagrams and service manuals to guide work.
• Communicate clearly with customers and document work in the service management system.
• Follow safety protocols and assist install team on new installations.
• Support emergency service calls during outages or storms.
