Job summary

Alta Equipment Group in Calumet City, IL is seeking a Master Forklift Field Service Technician to maintain and repair forklifts and other material-handling equipment. This full-time role offers a first shift schedule and requires independent work with strong mechanical skills.

The position includes a company van (driven home), a fuel card, paid time off, paid holidays, and an excellent benefits package with competitive wages. Prior field experience and a clean driving record are preferred.

Qualifications

• Five years of forklift repair experience preferred (military MOS/NEC codes may apply).
• Field experience is highly preferable.
• Strong working knowledge of electric and liquid propane units.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude.
• Possess own tools.
• Must have clean driving record and valid driver’s license to drive company vehicle.
• Familiarity with safety procedures and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Performing preventative maintenance on customer forklifts and other material handling equipment.
• Diagnose and repair all forms of customer equipment.
• Complete each repair job in a timely, efficient and professional manner.
• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Work and manage workloads independently.
• Proper completion and submission of all required paperwork.
• Field Technicians are responsible for company vehicle and on-board parts inventory.
• Incorporate Alta's Guiding Principles into daily activities.
