Job summary

Berry Material Handling - Salina is seeking an experienced forklift technician/mechanic with strong hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting experience. This field service role covers Salina and surrounding areas; not a shop position. Monday–Friday 8:00–5:00, hourly pay, no flat rate, and in-house paid training.

Responsibilities include repairing machine components in the field and shop, pre-ordering parts, maintaining records, and ensuring safety and quality. Spanish speaking is valued.

Qualifications

• Experience with electric forklifts is a plus.
• Ability to work independently of direct supervision.
• Strong mechanical repair and troubleshooting skills.
• Fluent or basic Spanish is valued on site.
• Good communication with customers and team members.

Responsibilities

• Repair machine components in field and shop at high quality.
• Recondition and repair equipment and components.
• Plan methods and sequence of repairs.
• Pre-order parts and materials needed for repairs.
• Perform repairs safely and effectively.
• Ensure repairs meet cosmetic and quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Keep time, parts, and purchases records updated.
• Keep records legible per established methods.
• Report daily field records, even if not returning to the company.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles.
• Maintain professional appearance and PPE.
• Communicate with customers and co-workers with respect and integrity.
• Perform inspections to identify causes of failures per guidelines.
