Job summary

ArborMetrics seeks an energetic Utility Forester to join our vegetation management team. You will work outdoors, assess vegetation along energy corridors, and coordinate with landowners and agencies to implement pruning, removal, or preservation actions per client standards.

The role requires working independently in varied weather, with strong focus on safety, accuracy, and customer service. Training and industry certification support are provided.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in forestry, natural resources, or related discipline or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in forestry, arboriculture, horticulture or tree-related green industry preferred.
• Knowledge of tree identification and GIS/software experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Patrol Preparation: organize records/maps; review sites for endangered species and habitats.
• Field Patrol Duties: safely patrol energy corridors; identify vegetation for pruning/removal; perform tree risk assessments.
• Landowner & Stakeholder Engagement: identify property boundaries; communicate plans; obtain permissions.
• Vegetation Management & Compliance: recommend sustainable strategies; audit contractor work; document issues.
• Coordination & Safety: coordinate non-routine work; follow safety protocols; travel to work areas.
• Additional Responsibilities: participate in storm/emergency response; perform other duties as assigned.
