Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Field Project Manager for its Fire division to lead complex fire alarm, security, and communications installation projects across commercial, educational, healthcare and industrial sites.

You will set up local project offices, define project scope, manage schedules and budgets, and ensure safety, quality and customer satisfaction. Travel is required; PM certification within two years and NICET II within one year are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certificate or diploma in Fire & Life Safety, Electrical/Electronic; Security. Certification in Fire Alarm Systems preferred.
• 5 years’ installation experience in Fire, Electrical, or Security systems.
• PM certification expected within two years of employment.
• NICET Level II expected within one year of employment.
• Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Project), including creating macros.
• Available for frequent local travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex fire alarm, security, and communications installation projects across commercial, educational, healthcare, industrial, and military facilities.
• Set up local project offices, define scope, identify risks, define methodology, allocate resources.
• Manage schedule, cost, safety, quality and customer satisfaction; present updates to management and customers.
• Ensure projects are closed on time and in scope.
• Coordinate change orders and monitor overall project margins.
