Job summary

Encore Fire Protection is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Service Technician to inspect, test, program, service, and troubleshoot a wide range of fire alarm systems at customer sites. The role requires travel within the territory, strong problem-solving, and clear communication with customers and teams.

Applicants should hold a high school diploma, an electrical license, and a valid driver's license, with NICET certification preferred. Competitive hourly pay with a performance bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical experience preferred.
• Valid electrical license per state requirements.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within territory.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, OSHA, and fire alarm theory.
• Hands-on experience with major manufacturers.’ fire alarm systems.

Responsibilities

• Service, program, test, inspect, and troubleshoot basic and complex fire alarm systems.
• Perform routine maintenance and corrective repairs per NFPA 72 and standards.
• Identify code deficiencies and provide clear recommendations for improvements.
• Respond to emergency calls including nights, weekends, and on-call rotations.
• Collaborate with contractors and internal teams for timely service delivery.
• Document service activities clearly, including findings and parts used.
• Maintain communication with customers and office staff on status and next steps.
• Uphold Encore’s safety, quality, and customer satisfaction on every site.
