Job summary

Fire Equipment Inc. in Westford, MA is seeking a licensed Fire Alarm Technician for field-based service, inspection, and repair of fire alarm systems. You will diagnose, program, and maintain panels and devices while delivering top-notch customer service on every site visit.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of experience, NFPA code knowledge, and the ability to work independently with on-call and overtime availability. Massachusetts and Connecticut licenses are preferred.

Qualifications

• RI Fire Alarm Lic required; Mass and Ct preferred.
• Additional licenses: MA Electrician License, RI or CT Fire Alarm License.
• Minimum 2 years of experience servicing, inspecting, or installing fire alarm systems.
• Strong understanding of NFPA fire codes and local regulations.
• Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work an 8-hour shift with on-call and overtime availability.

Responsibilities

• On-site service, inspections, and repairs of fire alarm systems for scheduled customers.
• System testing and inspections to prescribed standards and codes.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot system faults and wiring issues; perform repairs as needed.
• Identify code compliance and non-conformance issues and communicate solutions to customers.
• Program and configure fire alarm panels, devices, and control equipment.
• Complete accurate service reports, inspection forms, and documentation.
• Present a professional appearance and maintain customer service on every job.
• Remain available for on-call support and after-hours emergency response when scheduled.
• Collaborate with other technicians, project managers, and office staff to ensure customer satisfaction and efficient operations.
