Fire Equipment Inc. in Agawam, MA, seeks a skilled Fire Alarm Technician to service, inspect, and repair fire alarm systems for our established customer base.

This field-based role requires hands-on testing, programming, and strong regulatory knowledge, with on-site and office support as needed. The ideal candidate holds RI Fire Alarm licensure with Mass/CT preferences, MA Electrician or RI/CT Fire Alarm licenses, and at least two years of related experience.

Qualifications

• RI Fire Alarm Lic required; Mass and CT preferred.
• MA Electrician License and RI/CT Fire Alarm License preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience servicing, inspecting, or installing fire alarm systems.
• Strong understanding of NFPA fire codes and local regulations.
• Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• 8-hour shift with on-call and overtime availability.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site service, inspections, and repairs of fire alarm systems for scheduled customers.
• Conduct system testing and inspections to prescribed standards and applicable codes.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot system faults and wiring issues; perform repairs as needed.
• Identify code compliance and non-conformance issues and communicate solutions to customers.
• Program and configure fire alarm panels, devices, and control equipment.
• Complete accurate and timely service reports, inspection forms, and documentation.
• Present a professional appearance and maintain excellent customer service on every job.
• Remain available for on-call support and after-hours emergency response when scheduled.
• Collaborate with other technicians, project managers, and office staff to ensure customer satisfaction and efficient operations.
