Job summary

Metronet seeks a Network Fiber Technician in Phoenix to terminate, splice, test, and document fiber cables, supporting outdoor installations and CPE services. You will handle POTS, DSL, LANs, and ONT/NID with a focus on reliability and safety.

Required are a high school diploma or GED and 1–2 years in telecom or related work, along with a willing attitude toward travel, physical work, and mandatory on-call rotations. Training is provided at Metronet University.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• 1–2 years in telecom or related experience preferred.
• Trade school training is a plus.
• Must be professional with customers and fellow associates.
• Meet key performance metrics.
• Physical ability to work in varied conditions including weather.

Responsibilities

• Set up, test and maintain CPE installations for POTS, DSL and networking services.
• Install and maintain LANs and WiFi networks.
• Install and maintain NID and ONT.
• Troubleshoot from MDF to demarcation point including CPE.
• Respond to trouble tickets within company standards.
• Install Outside Plant facilities as per orders.
• Perform preventive maintenance and major repairs on distribution systems.
• Perform fiber testing and splicing; locate fiber cabling.
• Record changes and complete inventory requests.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays; participate in on-call rotation.
