Job summary

Hyper Networks, LLC is hiring a Fiber Technician in Tucson, AZ to install and maintain fiber networks in indoor and outdoor environments. You will splice, test, and certify fiber, ensure cable routing accuracy, and document results to support service delivery.

The role requires experience with fiber optic equipment, reading blueprints, and working outdoors in varying weather. Associate degree or equivalent and valid driver's license preferred; BICSI certification a plus.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of fiber optic theory including loss and connector types.
• Experience operating fiber optic splicing equipment and testing gear.
• Ability to read blueprints and building plans and document results.
• Proficient with OTDR testing and fiber measurement documentation.
• High physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in varying conditions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and install fiber in inside and outside plant environments.
• Splice fiber directly from ladder using splicer enclosure.
• Prepare, tray and splice cables from single to 864 fiber count.
• Install fiber, coaxial, and CAT 5/6 cables; document cables and boxes.
• Perform testing and turn-ups of subscriber drops; read building drawings.
• Read and update drawings; plan and acquire supplies; ensure safety compliance.
