Job summary

JDH Infrastructure Group in Indiana seeks a Splicing Technician to expand telecommunications networks and maintain existing lines. You will splice, terminate, and test fiber cables in underground, indoor, and aerial environments, and troubleshoot signal problems.

The role requires reading engineering prints, performing OTDR testing, and documenting results per customer specs. Travel up to one week at a time, with long hours, weekends, and a safety-focused, team-oriented attitude expected.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of fiber splicing/telecommunications experience.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and prints.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong safety focus and attention to quality workmanship.
• Willingness to travel up to 1 week at a time; adaptability to long hours and weekend coverage.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and test fiber cable in underground, indoor, and aerial environments.
• Terminate cable using a variety of connectors.
• Perform testing with OTDRs, Power Meter/Light Sources and VFLs.
• Record and document testing per customer specifications.
• Uphold safety standards and maintain professional conduct with customers.
• Plan installations with clients and work in a team-oriented environment.
